Valentine's Day

It’s been nearly a year now since Mohujos opened its doors and yet it seems like yesterday to Helen & I. We had a brilliant time over Christmas & New Year thanks to all of you and look forward to what we can bring you in 2008.
The next big event is Valentines Day when we will be bringing you some specials along with our normal menu from 14th-16th February. The focus of course will be love and passion with some aphrodisiac ingredients to warm your hearts! Reservations are coming in pretty quick, especially on the Thursday so give us a call soon to book your table. We have entertainment planned for each evening with solo artist Jeff Butterfield on Thursday, A duo called The Steve Marron Project on the Friday and Magic Marty, an amazing close up magician on the Saturday.

The next event will be our Birthday week in March so keep an eye on our website for details of what will be happening.

Christmas at Mohujos – 14th November

Why go anywhere else to enjoy fantastic food & a great service in a friendly & relaxed environment when it’s all right here in Billingham! We realise what a pain it is organising staff parties & family gatherings so we’ve created a straightforward to suit all tastes menu, set prices & a simple booking system to take away some of the hassle.

We are starting to get booked up fairly quickly now, especially on Fri/Sat nights during late December so hurry if your party night is on a weekend. If you call us we can discuss available dates/times. We have plenty of availability for early sittings at the moment so if you want to dine early & then hit the town, give us a call! – There is a free bottle of house wine for parties of 6 or more to get you started!

For those who can handle a mid-week party we are open from 5pm Tue, Wed & Thur too and will be running with the Christmas Party & the Favourites Menu throughout. If you want to dine any earlier then let us know, we may be able to accommodate you.

If you would prefer to party over lunch instead with you & your family, friends or colleagues, we may be able to help. Give us a call to discuss your specific requirements, we’re pretty flexible!

The all new Christmas Menu is now available online for viewing & its all there for you to print too!

Monday 8th October – Christmas menu update
Sorry about the delay in producing the menu for Christmas. We are in the process of testing & finalising the dishes so should have it all online sometime next week. All guests wishing to eat from the Christmas party menu will have to pre-book their meals and alongside we will be running a small Fiesta menu with some of Mohujos most popular dishes.
Some evenings will include entertainment and the dates will be posted here soon.
In the meantime if you wish to make a reservation for December then feel free to call us to confirm a time that bests suits you.
People are already booking for New Years Eve – It will be £10 per ticket which will reserve your table and includes aperitifs & a gift bag from Mohujos. We will also do a limited number of early sittings from 4pm if you want to eat and go on somewhere else. (your table will be yours until 745pm.)

Saturday 6th October – Busy weekends
Anyone who came to Mohujos last Saturday will remember that it was so busy we had to turn people away. It was a record evening for us in terms of people and some of you will have had a long wait for food.
We try hard to plan bookings as spaced out as possible to avoid having too many orders in the kitchen, however we do tend to get a lot of people arriving adhoc between 730-9pm.
To avoid this in future we would really appreciate it if you book on a Friday & Saturday, even the same day so we can plan the tables better, enabling us to deliver the best service possible. Before 7pm and after 930pm are generally fine if you just want to turn up.
We are also in the process of building a small bar area where you can enjoy a drink before you sit down or after you have eaten. I’m sure you will love it!

13th July – Christmas!!
Can you believe its only 5 months until Christmas?? We are starting to plan our Christmas and New Year menu and will start taking bookings as of now so don’t hesitate, it’s worth booking early to avoid disappointment. We will be having 2 sittings on New Years Eve, evening bookings starting from 4pm and will be a ticket event so definitely one to get booked in ASAP…...

12th July – Day time opening
Thanks for all your feedback on the day time opening, it was a 50/50 response, however, we love a challenge so it looks likely to go ahead in the near future. We will keep you updated.

11th July – I’m back
Well after a few days in hospital and plenty of morphine I am home, recovering well and doing a few light duties in the restaurant! Thanks to everyone who has been asking how I am, it kept me smiling!
We’ve been developing a few new specials and now have a tasty liver dish as a starter dish, watch out for a new chicken breast in red wine, onion and grape sauce, expecting to add this to the specials this weekend.

29th june

I'd just like to give everyone a quick update for all reading this. Wendy has had her operation yesterday, it was a success. Hopefully she will be gracing us again very soon with her presence. Like Helen said it’s a shame she missed out on the evening she’s been planning from the last few weeks, but I think we all did her proud.

29.06.07 - Tapas Thursdays!

Well our first tapas night was last night and what a success it was.  I was extremely happy with the way it went and the feedback from the customers was greatly appreciated.  We had live guitar music from 2 local lads, which was brilliant, it really added to the evening and made the atmosphere very chilled.  Everyone seemed to have a great time and the food went down a treat.  I would just like to say thank you to all the staff for really working well as a team and making it all happen, Iko, Lav and Lynn – you are appreciated!  Wendy – we miss you and I know you are upset to be missing out, get better soon and we are all thinking about you. X

26th June

We have spent the past few weeks trying out some new dishes for our new Tapas menu with our chefs and working out what we can adapt from our existing menu into a Tapas dish. My favourites so far is the Setas Cremosa – creamy mushrooms and peppers with paprika, also loved the calamari and tentacles, which tasted even better once we’d made our own lemon mayonnaise as a dip. We are working on some new dishes for the regular menu too – watch out for a gorgeous Mexican omelette and Tostadas on our specials and in the near future we are adding Tacos due to popular demand.
For those who love our king prawn starter you’ll be pleased to see that it’s taken pride of place on the Tapas menu too.

Sadly I won’t be there this week to enjoy the launch – I have suffered a collapsed lung so need to have an operation on Thursday to stop it happening again. Wish me luck and make sure you get along for your free glass of Sangria!
